Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to data when you use golfify.com. It is short because we deliberately collect very little: there are no accounts, no sign-up and no database of visitors.
Dieses Dokument ist derzeit nur auf Englisch verfügbar. Eine Übersetzung ist in Arbeit; bis zu deren Veröffentlichung ist der englische Text maßgeblich.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Golfify (registered name and tax ID to be confirmed), Spain. For any privacy question or request, use the contact page or email [email protected].
2. We have no accounts and no visitor database
Golfify is a static website. There is no server of ours running an application, no login, no user profiles and no database in which we store information about you. We do not ask for your name, and we do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-Y85RNGZYE2) to understand which pages are used and whether the tool works. It records things like the pages you view, an approximate location derived from your IP address, the device and browser you use, and how you arrived at the site.
Google states that Analytics does not log or store IP addresses; they are used to derive coarse location and then discarded. Google acts as our processor for this measurement, and transfers data outside the European Economic Area under its own safeguards. See Google's privacy policy for details.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). You can block Analytics entirely with a browser extension or tracker blocker, and the site will work exactly the same.
4. Weather and map data are fetched by your browser
The live conditions are fetched directly by your browser from Open-Meteo, not routed through a server of ours. That means their servers necessarily see your IP address and a request identifying the Costa del Sol coordinates being queried. The same applies to map links, which open a third-party maps service.
We chose this design because it keeps the site fast and serverless, but it does mean these providers process a request from you directly. Their policies: Open-Meteo terms and OpenStreetMap privacy policy.
5. Hosting and security
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and diagnostics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
6. If you contact us
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive what you send — your name, your email address and your message — and we use it only to answer you. That processing is based on your request (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) or our legitimate interest in responding.
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to deal with the matter. We never add you to a mailing list: there is no newsletter.
7. Cookies and local storage
The site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar identifiers for measurement; your browser's own settings and any tracker blocker control that. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us with the contact page and we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Spain this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).
Because we hold no visitor database, in practice there is often nothing for us to retrieve — but the rights apply to anything we do hold, such as a message you have sent us.
9. Children
The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly process their personal data.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be reflected here rather than announced elsewhere.
